WaterAid India is currently seeking a Chief Executive to be based out of New Delhi. The last day to apply for the Deshpande Fellowship for Social Entrepreneurship, North Karnataka, is 20th September 2008. The program runs from 10 January 2009 to 10 July 2009, with hopes to award a total of 25 fellowships. According to the website,

The Fellowship is an interactive, applied learning experience that aims to foster a generation of successful social entrepreneurs. Participants will learn existing best practices and engage with the foremost social entrepreneurs and local innovators to develop a working knowledge of leading social change models. The program will leverage this theoretical framework to aid each participant in the creation of an individualized proposal for social change.

Workshops and Conferences

The Institute of Fundraising and Philanthropy presents two workshops “guaranteed to leave you with practical ideas and a different perspective on communication and fundraising.” Both are being held at the Indian Social Institute, Bangalore:

1) New Approaches to Public Fundraising: 17-19 September, 2008 (Rs. 3000)

2) Prepare an Interesting Annual Report: 25-26 September, 2008 (Rs. 2000)

    We are lucky now that govt is supporting startup for indian citizens. Never rely on anyone for jobs.
    Startup India is a flagship initiative of the Government of India, intended to build a strong eco-system for nurturing innovation and Startups in the country. Under this initiative a Startup India Portal has been set up which shall serve as a platform for facilitation of Startup recognition, access to information related to incubators, mentors, Angel Funds, Venture Funds etc.
